5.1 From the main screen click on the “student” button.  This will bring you to the student screen.

5.2 Click on the ‘seating plan’ button.  This will bring you to the seating plan screen.  By default, 1st Class GradeBook will arrange the students in 4 rows alphabetically.  At the bottom of the screen are several options allowing you to customize the way the students are placed.  Each option is discussed below:

Rows: This is the number of rows you would like 1st Class GradeBook to arrange the students into.  When you change this value, you will notice that 1st Class GradeBook automatically re-seats the students into the specified number of rows.

Seat Students

In Rows:  Students are arranged in rows.  If you click and drag a student to a new location, 1st Class gradebook will automatically shift all the students to facilitate the move keeping all students placed in rows.

Anywhere: Use this option if you want to place students in groups and other arrangements not possible with the “row” concept.  When you click on this option, you will not notice anything happen.  When you click and drag students, however, you will notice that you can now place students anywhere on the screen.  This allows you to arrange students in any ordering/placement.
