2.       Attendance as an Activity

 

1.  Attendance in Quick Marks

1.1 To enter attendance in Quick Marks, from the main screen, click on quick marks.  Verify, at the top of the screen, the class you want to take attendance for.  (If you are not in the correct class, click on the arrow and a drop down selection box will appear.  Choose the correct class).

1.2 Across the top of the page is a list of all your activity types.  Click on the Attendance tab.

1.3 You can use the scroll bar or the tab key to go to the date you want to enter the attendance (as a default when you select attendance, it will automatically go to the current week).

1.4   Click on the box that corresponds to the student and the date you want to mark the attendance for.  Click on the arrow and a drop down selection box will appear.  Choose the attendance status you would like your student to have. 

 

      Status types have three options on how they will impact a student’s grade:

            Class average will not be affected.  (i.e. Absent)  Student will receive a grade of: ___. 

            Student’s grade is not impacted (i.e. excused).

            No Status.  Grade will be counted as entered (i.e. normal)

 

Some examples of “Status Types” are:  Absent, Field Trip, Did Not Show, Late, Skip, Sick.  There are many more options that you can choose from.  You can also add and delete attendance status types to suit your needs (see “Status Types Setup” on page
