I tried using water and other stuff but I have some old writing on my dry erase board that has been there about a year. Now when I try to get it off its seems my dry erase board is stained. Can someone tell me what chemical to use to clean it without ruining the board. I tried the dry erase cleaner you buy in the office supply store and it doesn`t work. Please help.

are you sure it`s dry erase marker. I had that problem and it turned out that someone mistook a permanent marker for the dry erase marker . Did you try rubbing alcohol because that works well on old stuck on marker on our dry erase board.

Q. How do you get dry-erase marker stains off the keys of a key board?
a few months ago, probably about 3, i was trying to play a song on my mom's yamaha keyboard and i used a green expo marker to mark on the key i needed to play. i didn't erase the marker off immediately, but i was trying to get it off today and i can't get it off. i tried germ-x, an oxy cleansing pad, arm and hammer: scrub free with oxy, and rubbing alcohol. i used a dry-erase marker because i thought it would come off. the keys of the keyboard were smooth so i figured i could just wipe it off when i was done, but now i can't get it off and i have to move the keyboard out of my room by next wednesday. can someone please help me??

"Time you use and expo...even on a dry erase board..."

have you tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser? It's fantastic and it does work! I haven't tried it on keyboard keys, but it is fantastic on walls, and anything my son decides to 'decorate' with markers (except fabrics). I would try that! Good Luck! :) and try to remember next time you use and Expo...even on a dry erase board , if it is not wiped off soon after writing on it will stain also.... ;)

Q. How to clean a dry erase board?
there is dry erase marker stains, or "ghosting" from mainly red dry erase markers. the actual marker has come off but it still has left faint lines. i have researched and told to do some things. i have already used standard dry erase board cleaner, mr. clean magic erasers , 409, and clorox wipes. nothing has worked and then i saw to use rubbing alcohol, i am however in a closed office environment and do not want the fumes of alcohol. is there any other way to get rid of these stains?

Sometimes just a little humidity (from your breath) can do it. But alcohol is the thing that really works. You shouldn't need a lot. Just do it while people are away at lunch or some other time when the office isn't crowded (or bring your whiteboard outside if you can). There are other solvents you could try, but they are all pretty much worse than alcohol - in terms of fumes, and may damage the whiteboard surface (i.e., may never be cleanable again after using it once more). Good Luck.

"Rubbing alcohol is often used to remove permanent marker stains..."

Use Rubbing Alcohol and paper towels to take it off! Rubbing alcohol is often used to remove permanent marker stains, so it shouldn't be to hard to get out the dry erase marker stains! Good luck!!

Q. Can i use a dry-erase marker on my stainless steel fridge?
i don't see why not- there are stainless steel dry-erase boards and the surface of my fridge looks and feels exactly the same. if i try it and it leaves a stain, is there a product that would remove it?

"What you're referring to is called a porcelain on steel dry erase board..."

I don't believe that you can. What you're referring to is called a porcelain on steel dry erase board. These boards are made of a steel under coat but they have a hard white porcelain over them. If you write on your stainless steel fridge you may ruin it for good. You can however... get a magnetic dry erase board and use that. MyVisualDisplay.com offers a 20 mil thick magnetic sheet with a dry erase writing surface over the top of it that works really nice. I'll provide a link for you. Good Luck The Whiteboard Guy : )

Q. How do you clean a dry erase board, after it seems stained?
i have a really nice one by quartet, but when i moved i left words in black erasable marker ink on it, and it seems to have set in. i did remove most of it... but there's still is like a shadow of the words that are visible. what to use where i don't ruin the slippery surface, i tried magic eraser, it helped but i can still see light wording.

"Stain (presuming it hasn't been on the board for more than a year or..."

Tooth paste! You want to use a *very* mild abrasive. Tooth paste will take off the stain (presuming it hasn't been on the board for more than a year or 2) without damaging the film.

Q. How do i remove an expo brand marker stain from a shoe?
i got some expo dry erase board marker on my friend's white sneaker, and he says that if i can't get the stain out, then i have to buy him another pair of shoes($80). how can i get the stain out? the sneakers are white and are made out of a close-woven synthetic material.

"The marker isn't permanent so it should be easier to wash off...."

that sucks...just try simple soap and water. and if that doesn't work..not too sure if googone will work on that. go to a shoe store and ask for a cleaning product for the shoe and that won't damage the fabric. the marker isn't permanent so it should be easier to wash off.
